Warm spaces

If possible within your caring situation, planning to spend some time outside of the home this winter may be a way of reducing your fuel bills.

Warm Spaces is an online directory of ‘warm banks’ which open their doors to people within their community if they need a warm space or to help them save on fuel costs at home.

Warm spaces come in many shapes and sizes!  Some may offer a weekly session, others may be open everyday.  They may offer warm space where you can sit and read or chat to other people, or they may offer wider services, such as activities, food and drink, phone charging and WIFI.  This is a new initiative so spaces are limited, but there is a strong drive for organisations to create and donate spaces, so keep an eye on the website for more spaces near you over the Winter.

London Borough of Merton Libraries offer warm spaces to the community this winter.

Age UK Merton run a variety of activities for the over 50’s in Merton including a weekly lunch club which offers the opportunity keep warm and enjoy a hot meal in the company of others.

Wimbledon Guild run a range of activities, which offer the opportunity to spend time in the warm this Winter, whilst also connecting to others.
