Young Carers Things we do Social Action Project overview Thanks to funding obtained from Thrive LDN and London Youth's City Leaders Scheme, the Young Carers Team has been busy setting up and developing several different projects over the past few months. Joe has been taking the lead in providing our young carers with the opportunity to participate in a social action project that aims to develop leadership skills, increase self-esteem and confidence, and nurture new friendships. As part of the project we have been: developing our Young Carers Committee to enable our young carers to have a say about the things that are important to them. creating opportunities for young carers to support each other through a new buddy/peer mentoring scheme Over the next few months we will be looking to train and build a team of Young Carers Champions who will be raising the profile of young carers and promoting the support available to them. Be delivering transition activities and workshops for those moving into high school or college.
