On Tuesday 19th February some of our young carers took part in a Healthy Eating and Awareness Workshop. In the morning we washed, cut and grated various fruits and vegetables to add to our fresh pasta sauce and got to try the ingredients before and after cooking. We cooked white and brown pasta  to add to our sauce and used a jar of pasta bake sauce to compare it to. We looked at the ingredients and talked about all the extra additives in pre-prepared jars. Everyone enjoyed eating the food and getting 2nd helpings. 

In the afternoon we talked about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and how it impacts both the individual and those around them. We experienced what it was like to have heightened 'senses' and how that made us feel. Everyone enjoyed the session and we had lots of fun getting to know one another.
