The Young Carers we support are an amazing bunch who grow up to develop incredible skills like resilience, time-management and empathy. The theme of this year's Young Carers Action day is all about valuing these skills and protecting Young Carers' futures.

"Most people don't understand how stressful it can be, being a carer with two whole other lives that also depend on me. I can’t say how isolating and lonely it is being stuck in your house [shielding vulnerable family members] not being able to go out and see your friends...CSM has been a lifeline."

Halima, now a Young Adult Carer and a student, has helped to care for her brother who has complex needs, for most of her life.
Halima and CSM Family Support Worker Joe Collins, were guests on local radio station, Voice of Islam radio broadcasting from Morden. You can listen to their interview here (the segment begins at 1:20:30).
