Carers Support Merton are proud to announce that two of our Young Adult Carers, Lurdes and Zoe (pictured, left to right), received 'Outstanding Contribution' awards at this year's Merton Partnership Volunteer Awards, which took place on Thursday the 6th of June at the Function Suite, Imperial Fields (formerly known as 'The Hub').

Lurdes and Zoe took to the stage to receive their awards from the Mayor of Merton, Councillor Mary Curtin, along with a number of other deserving winners (including Zoe's own mother, who was also recognised for her voluntary work in the community!). As leading members of our Young Carers Committee, the pair have been instrumental in developing and delivering our Social Action project (funded by Thrive London and City Leaders).

With a great turnout and a delicious sit down meal, the evening was a huge success, with a host of volunteers (of all ages and backgrounds) being rewarded for the outstanding contribution they make to the borough!!!!

The staff and trustees at Carers Support Merton wish to thank Lurdes, Zoe, and our other amazing volunteers for their invaluable support and dedication! Our service (and the borough as a whole) would be far less bright without your input!!!!

Here's to more award winners in 2020!!!!

Thanks also due to all involved in the planning and delivery of the event. What an evening!
