'The Galaxy' by Jimmy, aged 10

Jimmy created this wonderfully intergalactic picture of our galaxy using oil paints, which are a particularly tricky medium to use! In the picture we can see the Earth, the Moon and Sun, as well as a multitude of colourful stars.

Jimmy told me that he created the stars by loading his brush with different colours (including yellow, red, green and orange) and then flicking the tip of the brush, producing a 'splatter' effect.

Thanks for sending this painting in Jimmy, we are very impressed! Wouldn't it be amazing if our night sky was as colourful as this!!!!

INTERESTING FACT ABOUT OUR GALAXY: Did you know that the Milky Way Galaxy is made up of more than 200 Billion stars? (also it's over 13 Billion years old!!!)
