For many of us Christmas is all about family with children at its heart.

The unpaid family carers we support are at the heart of their families 365 days a year. Many carers are just children themselves, some as young as five. And their caring responsibilities don’t stop for the holidays.

Carers Support Merton is here to look after carers of all ages who find themselves caring for a relative, friend or neighbour who can’t care for themselves.

It can sometimes be a lonely, frustrating and overwhelming task. Many carers have little time to call their own and experience emotional or physical ill health as a result of their caring. Carers often lose friends and hobbies, endure relationship difficulties and sometimes financial poverty.

We  know how hard and isolating caring can be. That's why we’re here to provide Merton’s unpaid carers with practical advice, information, emotional support and respite to enable them to continue their caring roles and lead fulfilling lives.

With your support this Christmas you'll be helping to ensure that we can work year round on behalf of unpaid family carers in Merton. Your donation will enable carers to

  • Enjoy better physical health and emotional well-being
  • Experience less worry about their situation
  • Feel less isolated
  • Plan for the future
  • Help young carers to attend school regularly
  • Support young adult carers into education and training
